Preventive Dentistry

Everyone benefits from preventive dentistry especially children. As their teeth are developing from child teeth to adult teeth and jaws are growing, multiple dental problems can be prevented like maligned teeth, unerupted teeth and early intervention can allow teeth to come in strong and healthy. Dental fissure sealants and topical fluoride treatments help prevent decay in your children’s teeth as sealants are resins applied to seal the grooves of their teeth and fluoride application makes the enamel stronger. For adults, preventive advice and treatments can prevent gum diseases, tooth wear and jaw problems.

Fillings and crowns and bridges

At allure dental we provide metal free fillings. we use the most effective, modern, tooth-coloured materials to enable you to have white fillings. Tooth coloured fillings give you the most natural look to your tooth so no-one will be able to tell to have them. Inlays and Onlays are fillings used to cover the missing part of your tooth usually the biting surface of your teeth. They are laboratory made in porcelain and made by a technician. They are usually stronger than fillings and lasts longer.

Crowns are artificial teeth that are made to cover the remaining part of your teeth after preparing your teeth so that the crown fits over the tooth. Impressions are taking using an intra oral scanner to get accurate measurements of your tooth. They are the prepared in the lab and cemented onto your tooth. Dental crowns and will provide function and aesthetic needs and enhance oral health and function. A dental Bridge is used to replace missing teeth and are like several crowns joined to close the gaps from missing teeth. Dental Implants and dentures are an alternative treatment to replace missing teeth. Consult us for more information.

Endodontics (Root canal therapy )

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure used to treat infections of the tooth. It is a procedure to remove bacteria and pus from dying dead tissues, and then fill the space inside the roots with a suitable material to prevent bacterial growth and seal the tooth. A root canal treatment will help to save the tooth from extraction. After the procedure, the weakened tooth will be restored with a suitable restoration like crown or inlay to support the tooth. This treatment can be done by your dentist or a root canal specialist called an endodontist.

Extractions

If your tooth is damaged due to caries or infection, broken and cant be restored or repaired then the dentist may suggest taking the tooth out. The tooth may also be removed if you suffer from severe gum disease which may make the tooth very loose. Your dentist will usually remove the tooth in the dental surgery but sometimes an oral surgeon may be needed to do the procedure if the extraction is more complicated. Our dentist will explain the risks and treatment before the procedure. We do treat nervous patients with a lot of care as we understand that an extraction may make you anxious of the treatment. Once the extraction is completed, the dentist will suggest to you suitable treatments options to replace your missing tooth.

TMJ therapy

TMJ Therapy is the treatment of Temporomandibular Dysfunction (pain in the jaw joints). TMJ pain can arise due to clenching or grinding of teeth, stress, migraines, trauma to the face, arthritis or occlusal instability. The main objective of TMJ therapy is to restore balance and harmony in the jaws and muscles supporting them. This will reduce the pain from TMJ dysfunction and improve the quality of life and day to day activities. TMJ symptoms and assessment is checked during your dental exam and appropriate treatment is suggested by your dentist. Most treatments involve suggesting an oral splint which can provide temporary relief from pain after being worn. Some permanent treatments are suggested that can improve misalignment of teeth like clear aligners (Invisalign) which will improve TMJ symptoms arising due to occlusal imbalance.
